Until this day, no Govinda team has been able to make a pyramid which is more than 9 tier long. Hence this year l, Thane created a history by setting a new record of 10 tier long pyramids for the festival of Dahi Handi.
This Govinda team from Konkanagar, achieved a cash amount of twenty five lakhs by creating this world record. By the early hours on the day of Janmashtami different Govinda teams from all over Mumbai and Thane gathered at the top site for Dahi Handi, to break the earlier records of making pyramids.
But out of all the teams, the Konkanagar Govinda team created a history by setting the new record of 10 tier pyramid without making any mistakes.
This Konkanagar Govinda team is well known for creating huge pyramids. This team was guided by a coach named Vivek Kochrekar. This coach has been training the team for more than 12 years and has been guiding them with utmost discipline.
Konkanagar Govinda team is known for making pyramids with hard work and coordination. This time coach Kochrekar informed them that they were able to make a 9 tier pyramid last year but this year they came with the goal of making a 10 tier pyramid and they succeeded in doing that. He also informed that his Govinda team involves five hundred fifty Govindas and they started their practice of making a 10 tier pyramid this year.
This Konkanagar Govinda team’s precise and organised approach is what led the team to set this world record of making the longest pyramid for the Dahi Handi festival on the day of Janmashtami.
It takes a huge amount of team work, strength and coordination from the people involved to build the human pyramid required to break the Dahi Handi pot.
The people who build these huge human pyramids and break the pots are called Govindas.
